You’ve already built more than you think
If you’ve spent years shaping a career, raising a family, leading people, solving difficult problems, and becoming exceptionally good at what you do, you’ve probably accumulated far more than a CV.
You’ve built judgement.
Perspective.
The ability to make decisions that once felt impossible.
The challenge is that the things you’ve become best at are often the things you notice the least. They feel ordinary because you’ve carried them for so long. That’s why so many accomplished women reach midlife convinced they have to start from scratch, when in reality they’re standing on the strongest foundation they’ve ever had.
I don’t believe a second act is about becoming someone new.
I think it’s about recognising everything you’ve already become.
This is where the work begins
Most advice about starting a business begins with finding your passion, discovering your purpose, or choosing the perfect niche.
That’s not where I start with clients.
We start with what’s already there and organise it into something coherent before we build anything new.
That’s what The Strategic Second Act is about.
Not building from nothing.

Each Thursday I write about the practical side of shaping a second act that’s meaningful and profitable. Positioning, offers, pricing, business models, decision-making, and the strategic thinking that turns decades of experience into something people genuinely want to pay for.
There are no shortcuts, no hustle culture, and no promises of overnight success. Just thoughtful, practical writing about creating a business that feels like a natural extension of the life you’ve already lived.
I’m writing from inside that process myself, not from the finish line. That matters to me. Writing from a stage never interested me much. The workshop is where the real thinking happens, and that’s where I’d rather be.
Why I created The Strategic Second Act
I started The Strategic Second Act because I went looking for one specific thing, and couldn’t find it.
There was plenty of advice about building businesses. There was plenty of advice about confidence, mindset, and reinvention.
None of it started from the assumption that I already knew things. That thirty years wasn’t a gap to close before the real work began, it was the raw material for it.
What I couldn’t find was a framework that started with everything I’d already built instead of everything I supposedly lacked.
So I built what I was looking for.
